The plumbers were inside trying to get all the central heating connected, so that I could light the Godin and have a warm environment to work in.

The South side of the 'Auvent' roof is in flat clay tiles because later it will be covered by solar collectors. I originally wanted the whole roof to be in these flat clay tiles, but the 'planners' required the 'tuiles canals' to match surrounding houses.

Inside I was cutting the final sheets of 'Fermacell' wall cladding to cover the partitions that I'd had to leave open for the Plumbers and electricians (who should have finsihed about a month earlier). Altogether 80 sheets of Fermacell weighing 36 kilos each.

The first fire in the Godin - draws very well. The system was filled with 1000 litres of water at 3 degrees Celsius, and at first it did not seem to be heating up, but after 2 hours the water out to the radiators was 22 degrees. I calculated that was about right - it would take about 8 hours to heat the whole tank to 70 degrees from 3 deg. in a cold house.
